Not everyone can make a signature pot of chili. We’re talkin’ a full day of prep time, a day to meld all the great flavors and finally a day to eat fiery chili and cornbread. For the less skilled Chili eater here is a simple Chili recipe provided by Lynn’s Country Kitchen. With 15 minutes of preparation and 15 minutes cooking time, you can’t beat it!

Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound ground round
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup dry red wine
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 green pepper, seeded and diced
4 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
1 avocado, peeled, pitted and sliced
4 green onions, sliced
Directions
Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet; add the beef and onion; cook, stirring, until the meat browns slightly. Stir in the chili powder, cumin and salt.
Add the wine, tomato sauce and green pepper. Cover, cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes.
Arrange the lettuce and avocado on plates; spoon the hot chili over and sprinkle with the onions. Serve with hot tortillas or cornbread.
